Optometrist
Dr. Jeff Ross attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 2002. He continued his post-graduate education at Northeastern State University College of Optometry (NSUCO) where he gained specialized knowledge in advanced clinical methods and ocular laser procedures.
Optometrist
Dr. Claire Burbee joined the AFEC family in 2022. She attended the University of Tulsa and graduated with a degree in Biochemistry in 2018. She went on to graduate summa cum laude from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry (NSUOCO) in 2022. She also completed an externship at Triad Eye Institute in Tulsa, OK.
Dr. Claire Burbee joined the AFEC family in 2022. She attended the University of Tulsa and graduated with a degree in Biochemistry in 2018. She went on to graduate summa cum laude from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry (NSUOCO) in 2022. She also completed an externship at Triad Eye Institute in Tulsa, OK. While at NSUOCO, Dr. Burbee learned to manage complex ocular disease, pediatric eye care, and specialty contact lenses fitting including orthokeratology and scleral lenses. She is certified to perform laser eye procedures following cataract surgery and for the treatment of glaucoma. While at NSUOCO, Dr. Burbee was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor’s Society and received the silver medal for having the highest GPA in her graduating class. She served as the Vice President of the Optometric Student Association in 2019 and President of the Optometric Student Association in 2020. Dr. Burbee received numerous awards including the NSU 2022 Academic Achievement Award and the NSUOCO Golden Retinoscope Award for most outstanding clinical skills among senior clinicians. Dr. Burbee is involved with the Oklahoma Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the InfantSEE program. Dr. Burbee currently lives in Tulsa with her husband, Alex, who is a mechanical engineer in Broken Arrow. They enjoy spending time outside, biking, playing tennis, and binge-watching the latest Netflix series.

Dr. Kari Wilkerson is a graduate of Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry where she also achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a minor in Spanish.
Dr. Kari Wilkerson is a graduate of Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry where she also achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a minor in Spanish. Dr. Wilkerson trained at the NSUOCO Clinic as well as multiple rural Cherokee Nation clinics across Northeastern Oklahoma, Oklahoma School for the Blind, and Lesley Walls Low Vision Clinic. She completed her internship at Eye Care Associates of South Tulsa. Dr. Wilkerson has been practicing at AFEC Wagoner since 2020. She enjoys pediatrics, and ocular disease, and is certified to perform anterior segment laser procedures. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, as well as an InfantSEE provider. Dr. Wilkerson lives in Tahlequah with her husband David and three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, quilting, and baking.
